I spy…

…with my little eye, something that is GREEN! (and brown and blue and red and purple and orange…)

Well what isn’t green lately?! Spring has sprung and how! All around me everything is coming to life! The grass in my yard is already 6″ tall (or taller), all my bulbs are up and in flower, some of the trees have leaves on them too, and the smell of organic bovine fertilizer is in the air (that’s not green for sure!). There are bees, and flies, and moths, and birds, little beasts and big beasts making more beasty babies, the froggies are singing and croaking out their night music and filling the pond with pollywoggles, and there are backswimmers, whirlygigs, water boatmen, dragonfly larvae, and water scorpions to keep them company. I’ve seen junebugs and sphinx moths, garter snakes and crayfish, shrews and moles, and looking forward to the baby bunnies, the treefrogs, the diving ducks and the osprey coming to visit. So much to look at! Who says the country is boring?? *g* It’s just a different kind of wildlife out here than in the city!

ho hum

Tuesday, May 10th, 2005 | Author:

I often suffer from a dilemma that likely many others suffer as well. This dilemma isn’t harmful or terribly painful, it’s just annoying at times. This dilemma is being bored at work and not being able to leave to go do something useful elsewhere.

At times there is work to be done, I just don’t feel motivated to do it. At times there is a lack of work, but I must sit here just in case the phone rings. At times, there is so much work to be done, I don’t know where to start. I try to concentrate but my mind is elsewhere and thinking of other more fun things to do than work.

And so here I sit, having much work to do, but all I can think about it being at home doing other stuff. Fun stuff. Doggie stuff. House stuff. Anything but work stuff. Ho. Hum. 🙂

FREED-OM

I post on the Om Message board on a regular basis and this is the entry that I posted regarding the Freespace Beginning of the New World party on Saturday night…

“Another thing I noticed happened for me on this night (that doesn’t *usually* happen at clubs), was the wonderful feeling of FREEDOM.

There is something particularly liberating about dancing outside at a free event. This public place was available to all who made the effort to get there, and it didn’t need to be paid for (except for those who spent their own money to get there or to add to the night in some special way). I found it very satisfying to see a pro-active community working together towards a common goal – it totally rocked!

Also, there is something particularly magical about being in a place that has such natural beauty and energy, where the sounds of the birds mingle with the beats and the sounds of laughter and happy people talking. At some points it didn’t feel like we were in a city at all (especially near a highway!), but rather in a far away, safe, and wonderful place that was accessible to anyone who truly wanted to be there.

And, there is something particularly enlightening in realizing that this CAN and DOES happen inside such a big city that sometimes feels so cold and unfriendly. Thank you Freespace, for expanding my reality once again.”

I also had a wonderful time at the MidiMiliz/BLA event on the Friday night. Now THAT was a psytrance party! woohoo!

Weekend…please come soon! I’m waiting for your 48 hours of comfort, for your extra hours of sleep, and your permission to go out and get crazy. This could be a double party weekend, am I up for it?! Time will tell…
